Glimpse Lake is located in the Douglas Lake area, and it is fine lake for paddling in season.

Directions:

  • Drive south on Highway 5A to Nicola Lake.
  • Turn east onto the (signed) Douglas Lake Road.  Continue for 7 km.
  • Turn north onto the Lauder Road which goes right to Glimpse Lake.

Launch Areas:

  • There are several launch spots on the lake but the best is a short distance along the north side of the lake at a signed public boat launch.
  • Paddlers can also choose to launch at one of the two BC Rec Sites on the lake.

The Lakeshore

  • there are large marshy areas at either end of the lake for exploration.    In late summer, if the lake is down and the aquatic vegetation is robust, some areas can’t be paddled.
  • A paddle around the lake is about 6 km.

Pros:

  • A very nice lake in season with lots of areas to explore.

Cons

  • May be busy in prime times on weekends.  The lake may be low (drawn down for irrigation) and may be grown in with weeds in late summer.
