  • From Kamloops, drive north on the Lac du Bois Road.   At the McQueen Lake intersection (left to Pass Lake, right to Isobel Lake), turn right (east).
  • Follow the Isobel Lake Road watching for signage along the way

Boat Launch

  • The boat launch is at the far end of the Isobel Lake Recreation Site.
  • There is adequate parking there.

Shoreline

  • Much of the lake is marshy, but we can paddle most bays.   Watch for snags in the water.
  • Most of the shoreline is forested but there are islands, trails, and waterfowl to observe.
  • A paddle around the lake is 2.5 km.   We usually go around twice, once in each direction.

Pros

  • A quiet spot to paddle at non-prime times.
  • Lots of pond life and birds to observe
  • A good place for a paddle and hike.

Cons

  • At prime times the campground fills and the small lake becomes busy.
  • A late ice-off season.
  • The road can be bumpy and muddy early in the season.
