Lac le Jeune is a fine paddling lake.
Driving Directions:
- On the Lac le Jeune Road 26 km south of Kamloops
- Alternately, take the Lac le Jeune turnoff off Highway 5 and follow the signs
Boat Launch
- The best place to launch is in the Provincial Park off the beach or at the boat launch
- There are lots of lakefront homes and the campground on the north shore, but most of the east end and the south side is forested provincial park.
- Little Lac le Jeune is across the road on the west side. It can be accessed by paddling through the channel below the road. There are large marshes to explore on the far western edge of the lakes.
- Paddling the shoreline of the main lake is about 7.5 km around.
Pros
- Generally a quiet lake, except on summer weekends.
- The smaller lake is fun to paddle and explore.
- It can be combined with hiking trails.
Cons
- Busy on summer weekends.
- A late season start (at 1280m elevation)
