Leighton Lake is a dammed lake in Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park
Directions:
- From Logan Lake drive west to the intersection with the Tunkwa Lake Road, then drive north 16 km to Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park
- Alternately, turn off the Trans Canada Highway onto the Tunkwa Lake Road and continue north for 23 km.
- Signage is large and clear for the entrance to Tunkwa and Leighton Lakes
Launch and Parking
- Both lakes have gravel boat launches and lots of parking
Shoreline
- A paddle around the shoreline is about 3.4 km.
- The shoreline has some open forest and open grasslands.
- It can be a busy spot in late spring.
Pros/Cons
- Good access and a scenic spot
- A busy lake in fishing season
- The North Campground is mostly used by ATVs
