McConnell Lake

Location and Access

McConnell Lake is located 35 km south of Kamloops on the Lac le Jeune Road.   Turn into McConnell Lake Park and park near close to the lake.   There is a hand launch area at the shoreline.

The Lake

A paddle around the shoreline is 2.6 km.   The shoreline is treed, but it is a pleasant, quiet area.

Pros

  • A quiet spot with no homes around the lake.
  • More protected for windy days.

Cons

  • A busy spot at prime times with hikers, dog walkers, and fishermen.
  • A small lake so loops may be needed to get a longer workout.
  • A late season start-up (ice off).
  • Some highway noise.
