Peter Hope Lake is a medium-sized lake in the forested hills to the southeast of Kamloops.

Directions:

  • Drive Highway 5A south past Stump Lake.
  • About 2.5 km farther south is a turn to the Peter Hope Lake
  • Drive up the Peter Hope Road for 7 km to the Peter Hope North Recreation Site
  • Follow the signs to the boat launch

Paddling the Lake:

  • There are a few homes on the lake, but most of the lake is forested.
  • The north side of the lake has the Rec Site along the lakeshore.
  • There is a channel to a small hidden lake on the southwest corner of the lake.
  • It is 5 – 6 km around the lake depending on which channels and bays are chosen.

Pros:

  • A pleasant lake with some interesting channels and marshy bays.
  • A good boat launch and parking.

Cons:

  • May be busy at times.
