Scuitto Lake is located near the Campbell Range, in the hills southeast of Barnhartvale.

Directions/Launch:

  • Access is via the Scuitto Lake Road.
  • Follow Barnhartvale Road to the Robbins Range Road turnoff.    Go up the Robbins Range Road and continue straight ahead to the Campbell Range Road.   Turn right onto the Scuitto Lake Forest Service Road and drive for 12 km on a gravel 2WD road.    There is signage for the Rec Site.   The main boat launch area is the best choice.
  • There is lots of parking on the site.

The Lake:

  • Scuitto Lake is an interesting lake with rocky areas, marshy areas, stumps, islands, and interesting natural corners.
  • Some of the bays are shallow and more full of water in spring and early summer.
  • A paddle around the lake is about 5.7 km.
  • There is a good Rec Site on the lake and another fine campground at Campbell Lake only 5 km farther along the road.

Pros:

  • An interesting and scenic lake.
  • Because it is a long drive, the lake is rarely overly busy.
  • Usually lots of birds around the lake.

Cons:

  • A long drive on a bumpy road.
  • A later season opening.
