Sullivan Lake

Location and Access

From the Sun Peaks Road, turn left at the Knouff Lake Road and drive 13 km to Knouff Lake.   Follow the road around the lake and turn into the Sullivan Lake West (Knouff) Recreation Site.   Park and hand launch from the shoreline.   There is  second launch farther up the road.

The Lake

We have enjoyed this lake with its islands, shoals, and quiet corners.   The distance around the shoreline is about 5km, but going around the islands adds extra time and distance.

Pros

  • an interesting lake
  • a loop route can be driven by going down the Knouff – Vinsula road through Sullivan Valley

Cons

  • busy at prime times
  • a later ice-off date
  • the road around the lake can be bumpy
